I LEARNED BUSINESS
My education in business started at eight years old, growing up in a family business.
At an age when most kids were learning the basics, I was learning how to professionally answer the phone, write receipts, charge sales tax, handle money, and count change back to customers.
I didn’t know it then, but those early experiences were teaching me the fundamentals of business: responsibility, accuracy, communication, customer service, and accountability.
My professional journey continued from there, beginning as an Office Manager and moving through a variety of roles that gave me an increasingly comprehensive view of how businesses actually work.
Over the course of my career, I’ve accumulated 20+ years of accounting experience, achieved a 98% sales close rate, and helped grow a business from $150K to over $1 million.
But the numbers are only part of my story. The real value is the perspective those experiences created.
I’ve learned to look at a situation from multiple angles — to understand the numbers, recognize patterns, see opportunities, identify obstacles, analyze the people, and connect the pieces that aren’t always obvious.
given me: perspective.
Then, in 2002, I became a business owner — and the perspective changed completely.
I was no longer simply contributing to someone else’s business. I was responsible for building my own.
That experience led me deeper into accounting, business consulting, and staffing, expanding my understanding of the financial, operational, and human sides of business.
